Echo Cleansing Bar

Every collection has a bar that asks the least of your skin and gives the most of itself.

Echo is fragrance-free — no essential oils, no aromatic botanicals, no fragrance compounds of any kind. What it carries instead is the full botanical core of the Acquavena collection: the triple botanical water phase of dandelion root, burdock root, and green tea; the five-oil conditioning base; the rosehip seed oil superfat. And two ingredients added specifically for skin that prefers to be left alone: colloidal oatmeal and chamomile extract.

It's not a stripped-down version of the other bars. It's the distilled one.

How It's Made

Echo is handcrafted in small batches at the Acquavena Organics studio. The saponification process is completed during the cook before anything else is added. The colloidal oatmeal, chamomile extract, and botanical extracts are folded in post-cook, after all lye activity has ceased, at the temperature where heat-sensitive compounds survive intact.

The bar cures pale — cream to ivory, with a soft warm undertone from the dandelion root in the lye water. No added color. Nothing artificial. What you see is what's in it.

Minimum cure time is four weeks. At six to eight weeks, the lather reaches its full, creamy character.

The Botanicals

Colloidal Oatmeal (Avena Sativa Oat Kernel Flour)

At 1.5%, this is a clinically meaningful concentration. Beta-glucans form a light protective film on skin during cleansing, buffering against water loss and contact irritation. Avenanthramides contribute anti-inflammatory activity at the point of contact. The naturally occurring saponins in oat flour also contribute to the lather — it's both functional and part of the cleanse.

Chamomile Extract (Matricaria Chamomilla)

Standardized for bisabolol content, the compound responsible for chamomile's well-documented calming and anti-inflammatory action. Works directly with the colloidal oatmeal to settle reactive skin during the cleansing process. Added post-cook at 0.3%, where it's fully preserved and active.

Dandelion Root (Taraxacum officinale)

Rich in vitamins A, C, and K. Enters the formula twice: as part of the botanical lye water and as a concentrated 10:1 post-cook extract.

Burdock Root (Arctium lappa)

Purifying, anti-inflammatory, sebum-balancing. Same dual-entry as dandelion root: botanical lye water and post-cook extract.

Green Tea (Camellia sinensis, 50% EGCG)

Antioxidant protection. Part of the primary lye infusion and again as a concentrated post-cook extract.

Rosehip Seed Oil (Rosa Canina)

The sole superfat, post-cook and fully intact. Essential fatty acids and vitamin A precursors. Conditions skin after cleansing without adding weight or fragrance.

Who It's For

Echo was formulated for skin that's sensitive to fragrance, reactive to essential oils, or simply prefers to cleanse without a scent layer. It's also the bar to reach for if you wear a signature fragrance and don't want your cleanser competing with it.

The colloidal oatmeal and chamomile make it particularly suited to eczema-prone, post-treatment, and environmentally stressed skin. But it's not clinical — it's the same quality and care as every bar in the collection, without the aromatic component.

How to Use

Wet skin with warm water. Rub the bar between palms or directly onto skin to build a lather. The oat-enriched lather is softer and creamier than the scented bars — let it sit for a moment before rinsing. Massage in gentle circular motions, then rinse thoroughly with warm water. Pat dry. Store on a draining soap dish between uses. Suitable for face, body, and hands.
