Sea salt polishes the surface. Hibiscus AHAs dissolve what's underneath. That's the difference between a scrub and a gommage: two actions happening at once instead of one.

The carrier is jojoba wax ester, not oil, so it rinses cleaner than anything you've used in the shower. Sea buckthorn and hibiscus  brings the color — deep plum, warm, genuinely earned. Orange, geranium, cedarwood, and ylang ylang for the scent.

No water in the formula. No preservatives needed. 24-month shelf life.

  • Dual-Action Exfoliation

Salt crystals physically polish. Hibiscus flower AHAs (malic and citric acids) chemically loosen dead cell bonds so the salt can sweep them away cleanly. Each action makes the other more effective. That's what makes it a gommage.

  • Jojoba, Not Oil

Jojoba is a liquid wax ester, structurally close to what your skin already makes. It rinses off cleanly. No shower floor slick. No greasy film after. Most body scrubs use coconut or almond oil. They work. Jojoba works better in the shower.

  • No Water, No Preservatives

Water in a formula means you need preservatives. Salt & Bloom has neither. Every ingredient is ECOCERT and COSMOS Natural compatible. Shelf life is 24 months. The formula is self-preserving by design, not by addition.

Inside the Formula

Inside the Formula

16 ingredients. Every one earns its place.

Sea Buckthorn Oil — Hippophae Rhamnoides Fruit Oil: The richest botanical source of omega-7 (palmitoleic acid) — the same fatty acid your skin produces. CO2-extracted from the berry. Dense with carotenoids and tocopherols. It's also why the formula is amber — that color comes from the sea buckthorn at 3%.

Hibiscus Flower Powder — Hibiscus Sabdariffa Flower Powder: The ingredient that separates a gommage from a scrub. Carries natural malic and citric acids that chemically loosen dead cell bonds before the salt ever makes contact. Deep ruby-pink, visible in the finished formula.

Jojoba Wax Ester — Simmondsia Chinensis Seed Oil: Technically a wax, not an oil. Its molecular structure is close enough to sebum that skin treats it as familiar. Absorbs cleanly, doesn't clog, and won't leave your shower floor a hazard. It's 25.5% of the formula — the carrier everything else sits in.

Meadowfoam Seed Oil — Limnanthes Alba Seed Oil: A Pacific Northwest wildflower oil with oxidative stability that rivals jojoba. Silky on contact, absorbed fast, no greasy trail. It extends the shelf life of every other oil in the formula.

Calendula Petal Powder — Calendula Officinalis Flower Powder: Physical exfoliation temporarily sensitizes skin. Calendula's flavonoids and terpenoids calm that response as the polish works. It's the reason Salt & Bloom suits skin that finds most scrubs too aggressive.

Matcha Powder — Camellia Sinensis Leaf Powder: Shade-grown green tea in its most concentrated form. High in EGCG polyphenols for free-radical protection during and after exfoliation. Adds a green fleck visible against the amber base — all color in this formula is botanical.

The Fragrance

Top — Orange Peel Oil (Citrus Sinensis)
Heart — Rose Geranium (Pelargonium Graveolens)
Base — Cedarwood Atlas (Cedrus Atlantica)
Accent — Ylang Ylang (Cananga Odorata)

Orange peel opens bright and citrus-warm — closer to sweet orange than bergamot, which gives Salt & Bloom a warmer, more enveloping character than Clear Bloom. Rose geranium carries the heart with a floral-rosy quality that bridges citrus and wood naturally.

Cedarwood Atlas grounds the base with a dry, clean wood note. Ylang ylang at low percentage adds a subtle floral depth without going heavy or tropical. The total essential oil load sits at the body-safe limit for a rinse-off product.

How to Use

4 steps. About 3 minutes.

01 Warm Water — Start your shower and let warm water soften skin for 1 to 2 minutes before you reach for the jar.

02 Apply — Scoop 2 to 3 tablespoons onto damp skin. Dry hands into the jar, always — water contamination shortens the shelf life.

03 Massage — Slow circular motions on legs, arms, and décolletage. Spend an extra 30 seconds on elbows, knees, and heels.

04 Rinse — Warm water rinse. Pat dry. The jojoba leaves skin conditioned. No lotion required, though it absorbs better right after.

Frequency: 2 to 3 times per week. Store the jar away from direct sunlight.

Complete the Ritual

What to reach for next.

After Salt & Bloom — follow with Clear Bloom Botanical Liquid Soap
Freshly exfoliated skin is more receptive. Clear Bloom's calendula-and-nettle complex cleans without re-irritating skin that's just been opened by the salt. The botanical scents sit in the same family — geranium and bergamot in Clear Bloom carry naturally from the warm citrus character of Salt & Bloom.

Seal it in with Vital Bloom Hand & Body Lotion
Exfoliated skin absorbs actives at a noticeably higher rate. Apply the five-vitamin botanical lotion (vitamins A, B3, B5, C, and E with calendula and chamomile) within 60 seconds of towelling off. That's when the barrier is most open to what you give it.
