About This Vessel
The vine is the thread that connects Acquavena Organics to Acquavena Vineyard — the same hands, the same land, the same deep attention to what grows and why. Vite is named for the grapevine, and it carries that connection literally: the entire upper body of the vessel is covered in a hand-drawn vine, incised into the clay before firing, bearing small circular berries and paired leaves that move around the form like a living thing.
The glaze is warm honey-wheat — the color of late-summer grasses, of cured grain, of the clay itself asking to be seen. A subtle cream sweep moves across the lower body, nearly invisible until the light finds it. The ruffled feet at the base are elaborate and delicate, the work of a hand that took its time.
Vite is the most personal vessel in the collection. It is a love letter to the land.
Care
Hand wash only. Do not submerge or place in dishwasher. Stoneware is water-resistant and will deepen beautifully with age and use.

About this piece
Glaze & firing
Every vessel is thrown on the wheel, carved while the clay is still leather-hard, then fired twice. The second firing is where the glaze decides what it wants to do.
Wood-ash and celadon glazes break and pool differently depending on where a piece sits in the kiln, how thickly the glaze was laid on, and how fast the kiln cooled. That's why no two come out the same, and why the one you're looking at is the only one of its kind.
Small variations in the foot, the rim and the carving are the record of a hand rather than a mould.
Care
Wash by hand with warm water and a soft cloth. Avoid the dishwasher, which will dull the glaze over time.
The pump is a standard 28-400 fitting, so it can be replaced from any supplier if it ever wears out. Rinse it through with warm water if you switch between a soap and a lotion.
Stoneware is durable but not indestructible. Keep it off the edge of the counter.
Hand-packed shipping
Each vessel is wrapped by hand, double-boxed with a cushioned void between the two, and insured for its full value.
If a piece arrives damaged, send a photograph of the box and the piece and we'll make it right. We'd rather hear about it than have you live with a chip.
